Even though we were absolutely stuffed from eating burgers for lunch, we couldn’t resist when we saw a sign for “NY-style pizza.” We decided to go in and take “one bite” just to give it a Dave Portnoy rating. We ordered a single slice of Margherita to share among the three of us. After just one bite, we all looked at each other and said this was the best NY-style pizza we’ve ever had. It was that good. Of course, we went right back in and ordered a whole pie and the rest was history. The sweet lady who owns the place told us she was from Italy and I told her many many times over that her pizza was the best NY style pizza. She definitely makes her pizza with love!
Manhattan resident perspective: pizza here is by FAR the best in the area. Please do not go to Grottos or other shops in the area. Pomodoro makes some of the best pizza outside of any city by far. It’s always refreshing to get that crunchy crust and they execute on that here very well. The main difference between NYC pizza and Pomodoro is NYC pizza has a very tomato flavor profile. Pomodoro has a big cheese flavor profile. I think both are great! Will 100% come back to Pomodoro and I recommend to all! 1.50 for a slice is a steal! $22 for a pizza is slightly pricey but definitely worth it.
Amazing NYC pizza! The crust was perfectly thin, great sauce, everything had a great flavor. I loved how snappy and lovely the owner was. She got us our pizza very quickly and was clear about how long it would take (10 minutes). We got mushroom, pepperoni, & a spinach, ricotta, tomato something. Everything was delicious & filled us up. We were very happy about it.
Tell us what you ordered and what it cost. Two or three sentences about one dish is more useful to the next person than a star rating.
